At Rounton Farm we understand the importance of giving back to our community. It's something our family believes in and something we all participate in throughout the year. We give of our time as well as our resources. We are especially passionate about supporting causes that impact the lives of children of all ages. Whether it is meeting their basic needs, offering special experiences or encouraging leadership potential, all kids need to be loved and supported. A portion of our annual income goes directly to support the causes listed below and we love giving back in this way!

Kenya Kids Can

It is wisely said that one trip to Africa with change your soul forever. This is true for Ellen and Rob as they have both spent extended time living and teaching in Kenya. Founders of Kenya Kids Can, Steve and Nancy Peifer were neighbors with Ellen when she lived in Kijabe, Kenya. Thankfully they could not ignore the hunger that pressed in and threatened the lives of children living in remote areas of Kenya.  Click here to learn how these dynamic kids are receiving lunch and computer training with the hopes that they will one day be leaders in their community and game changers for their country. Rounton Farm is very proud to be partnering with this humble yet crucial program.

4-H

"I pledge my head to clearer thinking, my heart to greater loyatly, hands to larger service and my health to better living, for my club, my community, my Country and my world."  Written in 1918, the4-H pledge still rings true today. Ellen’s family has been involved with 4-H for over 40 years and Rounton Farm is proud to host 4-H functions of all shapes and sizes. From a hundred Kindergarteners experiencing life on a farm for a morning field trip to an intimate fundraiser dinner party and everything in between Ellen and Rob will do anything to support the strong roots of 4-H in their community.

Over the years, many Rounton Farm horses have offered their broad and stable backs for young children with disabilities to experience the thrill of horseback riding during the Therapeutic Adventure Camp of Orange. The camp is sponsored by 4-H and provides a week packed with fun and learning all centered around horses, friendships and fun! Ellen’s family has been helping out with this camp for over 40 years and each year it is more rewarding on so many levels!

Young Life

We love Young Life! We love what it is doing right here in our own community and we love how it is impacting kids all over the world! It gives us great joy to host Young Life events throughout the year from the Freshmen Spaghetti Dinner in September and the annual fall Banquet, to end of year gatherings as well as hang out time in the pool and on the volleyball court.

Young Life at its core is this...

"Young Life doesn't start with a program. It starts with adults who are concerned enough about kids to go to them, on their turf and in their culture, building bridges of authentic friendship. These relationships don't happen overnight — they take time, patience, trust and consistency. So Young Life leaders log many hours with kids — where they are, as they are. We listen to their stories and learn what's important to them because we genuinely care about their joys, triumphs, heartaches and setbacks. We believe in the power of presence. Kids' lives are dramatically impacted when caring adults come alongside them, sharing God's love with them. Because their Young Life leader believes in them, they begin to see that their lives have great worth, meaning and purpose. This is the first step of a lifelong journey; the choices they make today, based upon God's love for them, will impact future decisions … careers chosen, marriages formed and families raised. All ripples from the time when a Young Life leader took time to reach out and enter their world."
